Light Work

A research work for the Critical Meme Reader III: Breaking the Meme

Light Work

A light work not so light

It was an immense honor to spend six months collaborating with a team as deeply passionate about memetics as I am.
The fruit of our exceptional partnership is this book, which you can now access online for free (see page 163). For those who prefer a physical copy, a printed version is also available for order.

Building on the visual language I developed during my work with the United Nations, this new series reinterprets various times and contexts using recurring shapes and symbolism.

In this framework, squares consistently represent the stereotypical masculine and rational aspects of identity, while rounded shapes—such as circles and spheres—symbolize the fluidity and adaptability of energies often associated with femininity.

In this article, I explore the concept of Memetic Warfare and its manifestations in both individual and collective experiences. From how we relate to ourselves to how we engage with what we perceive as the "opposite gender,"* this piece delves into the challenges while offering a glimmer of hope, as nothing is ever truly fixed or unchangeable.

For the first time in my writing journey, I felt genuinely supported and encouraged by my editor, an experience that has profoundly reshaped my perspective on my research work. I highly recommend exploring the full review.

*Note: The terms "masculine" and "feminine" here do not refer to gender identity but rather to a human interpretation of the attributes traditionally associated with these concepts.
