Mother Divine

Mother Divine

The Divine Mother series is one of my first series. It is a collection of digital collages that illustrate my vision of the mother figure. Whether it be on a physical level, or intangible, internally as well as in the world.

It is based on 4 principles:

  • Universality

  • Divine Femininity

  • Experience

  • Transmission

Universality is a concept that seems complicated at first, but it is omnipresent in our lives. As living organisms, it can feel like a strong sense of belonging to the world around us. As if there is only one Consciousness.

Impermanence (2019)

Impermanence (2019), digital collage

The collage called Impermanence refers to animal life on Earth (including human life). The butterfly on the face is a reference to our lives which, on a universal scale, appear and disappear just as quickly. The Moon symbolizes the light of the Sun (which it reflects). It is as if it opened a portal to our consciousness, our essence, a path to another reality.

The Spirit of God has long been attributed to feminine energy. Here it is the same Consciousness that I presented in the previous part.

Some of my collages refer to the desire to populate a world that may seem empty, to have a child. To make this child see the day he will have imagined. Because to me, this is a sign of undying self-confidence. That's why it's not my objective here to represent this energy as fragile or "pure". But to show it as a nourishing force, full of knowledge and sympathy.

In the first collage entitled Guidance, I wanted to recreate the impression of having a vision by giving reality an almost digital or holographic aspect. And in the process represent a spiritual being or ancestor, whose appearance may be disturbing to some but whose intention is to share knowledge, to help navigate life. To guide.

The Experience

All this sent me back to the idea of a Universe that is singularly experienced even if entirely itself. This reflection pushed me into regions and temporalities often very different from our shared reality.

Here illustrated by the collage on the left, Existence Isolated, and the play of perspectives amplified once again by the Moon.

The Transmission

Which is an embodiment of abundance and love. This is shown in the collage by the red sheet that unites the mother to her child and the colors of the ship itself, which are similar to those of the Earth's nature seen from space.
